Yep...bang!
So, home today with not one but TWO sick children! My living room is covered in blankets and tissue and my kitchen counters hold Children's Tylenol, Motrin, Delsym, and the ear thermometer (along with the paper for me to keep track of each child's temp and medicine...whew). We are currently starting our third box of tissue also.
What fun!
We have watched movies, TV shows, and now NCIS On Demand...I guess the kids get tired of kids shows too...thank goodness.
They still seem to have an appetite and they are drinking, so I'm still hoping this is short lived. Everyone says that the flu is already going around and is pretty bad, but I think mine just have the 'crud'.
So, we are officially bums...no one has even gotten dressed today, but it is a dreary day so I guess it could be worse.
As for me, I said that I was going to be productive today (since I would be home) and pump out some much needed articles. Well, it's 215pm, and I've published none. I'm about halfway through writing one, but no where near the goal of 4 that I had today.
The Meetup group that I started wanted to have a meetup tonight at 6pm, and now I'm not sure if I will be able to attend that. Pretty bad when the organizer misses out, but my children do come first.
Hopefully I will have more positive news/updates later.
Update @ 1020pm: Still have two children with fever :(
I still have not submitted any articles :(
All in all, a blah day!
Kids will not be going to school again tomorrow, but hopefully they are staying home with dad, and I can have some level of normal. I may have to start tanning so I can relax! I miss that feeling.

I guess we will finish January with a bang...
Well, Bryson is still battling croup, but that's the least of my worries right now.
I woke up when I heard Brianna coughing this morning. She complained last night about her throat hurting, but I think it was because she has been coughing so much.
I went to check on her, and she is burning up with fever. 102.9 to be exact. So, here I am, still on the couch with her. Motrin has dropped her fever some, Delsym has quieted the cough for now, and she did eat breakfast, so maybe it will not be that bad.
Guess what, we are watching Karate Kid again. Probably a good thing because I fell asleep before it finished last night!

Great Saturday
Before I tell you about my great Saturday, I must tell you about my Friday evening.
Brianna stayed the night with her friend Brittany, David was working, so that left Bryson and I. Of all the things that Bryson could have picked to do, he wanted to play Super Mario Bros. for the night. He did not even want to go out to eat. So, we played video games from about 515pm until 10pm with only a short dinner break. Fun times!
Today, Bryson and I woke up about 6am, so that we could meet David for breakfast at 630am. We went to Waffle House. When we were done, Bryson went home with David and I went to the grocery store. I came home, unloaded groceries, and headed to Harlem to get my hair done. Enjoyed chatting with Crissy and really needed the color. Then, I went by Wal-Mart to get what I couldn't at Kroger today, picked Brianna up, and came home to play more video games. LOL!
After David went to work, the kids and I went to the mall so that we could get a jump rope for Brianna and go to Build A Bear. Bryson ended up with a puppy and Brianna with the peace sign bear.
Now, we are being lazy and watching Karate Kid...pretty good movie thus far.

FYI...Public Today
I started this blog a long time ago, cannot even remember when.
I have written/deleted so many times, it's crazy!
So, since January 12, 2011 I have been using this regularly. Then, today, I was reviewing, and I tend to write stupid stuff that I'm sure no one cares about (or so I think).
I've kept this blog private though, so no one can see it. So, it didn't really matter if I wrote something then deleted it (over and over again).
So, I cleaned it up AGAIN, and I'm going to make it public.
I need somewhere to keep my less than organized thoughts when I am not writing articles, and this has been a good outlet for me.
I tend to think that no one will want to read my ramblings, but as many blogs as I follow (and enjoy reading) this might not be the case!
So, if any may like my ramblings...this is for you!

Hat Day Friday...
Yesterday, I made it through work, cooking/eating dinner, and homework (lots of math) with Brianna...but at 7pm when I sat down, I was done. Slept til this morning.
Bryson has croup. He sounded horrible this morning. He sat in the bathroom with me while I took a shower to breathe in the steam, and that seemed to help a bit. He hasn't had breathing problems with croup in a LONG time. Usually it's just a cough. I was not sure why he was so insistent on going to school, but then I found out. Today is hat day at school. The kids can pay $1 that goes to Relay for Life. Well, Bryson likes to go all out on hat day. So, today he is wearing a button down collar shirt, blue jeans, cowboy boots, belt with big belt buckle, and a cowboy hat...LOL! Love that kid!
My 'girly' daughter is wearing her camo ball cap...LOL!
Tonight Brianna is going to her friend Brittany's house to spend the night, David is working, and Bryson and I are having pizza and video game night.

MLK Day
I see that I missed Sunday! This has been such a fun and busy weekend!
Sunday we went to SS, Church, Azteca Maya for lunch, then brough Alayna and James home with us to slide on the ice at Nana's house.
Well, the ice was 'slush', so that did not work out...so David hooked the mattress up to the four wheeler and rode Brianna, Alayna, Bryson, and James around the church yard. Dion and Emily chased on the golf cart, and Jackie and I just laughed and talked.
I am off today, thank goodness, and must catch up on laundry, house, bible study, grocery shopping, etc.
Not a fantastic day off, but I'll take what I can get.

Saturday at the Fox
We took the kids to ATL today to see Beauty and the Beast at the Fox Theatre. I think I was more excited than they were and it was wonderful!
More wonderful because the tickets were FREE!!
It was funny, because we heard on the news that the roads had just opened up in ATL because of all the snow and ice, so we were going. As soon as we got on I-20, before we even got to the next exit up from us, the big sign over the interstate, used for Amber Alerts and such, stated that ATL roads were dangerous and to avoid all unnecessary travel to ATL. We almost turned around, but I'm glad we didn't.
